We will give you a form to fill out to determine your medical history, and any concerns or symptoms you may have been experiencing. Your chiropractor will then perform a thorough spinal assessment and orthopedic testing, which includes testing your range of motion, posture, stiffness and muscle imbalances. Scans will be completed as well to determine how efficiently your nervous system is working. During the second appointment, your chiropractor will go over your results with you so you can gain an understanding of what is going on in your body. Following appointments will involve the adjustments to get your spine and health where it needs to be!
A subluxation is a location in your spine where there is restricted movement or function of the vertebrae. This in turn can affect your motion, posture, function, and may affect your nervous system, which is the brain-body connection. You may not always feel a subluxation, so it’s important to come in for a thorough assessment. A chiropractor is trained to correct the subluxations with adjustments and get your body functioning the way it’s supposed to.
For most patients, the adjustments are painless. Some patients that are new to chiropractic may feel discomfort during the adjustments, but most people report relief and improved mobility after the adjustment takes place. The doctors have training to deliver gentle, effective adjustments via a variety of ways through instruments or hands.
After an adjustment, your body may have to get used to the changes happening to your system. There can be some discomfort at first as you are getting used to the changes in function and posture. Once your body is used to those changes after multiple visits, it is unlikely you will feel discomfort. If long lasting soreness occurs, please contact us to explore causes and alternate ways to get your results.
