Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions, if so we have answers!

Chiropractical has compiled a list of Chiropractic FAQs to ensure all your questions are answered properly, and we are always available to answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to helping you achieve your health and wellness goals!

Q: What happens during the first appointment?

We will give you a form to fill out to determine your medical history, and any concerns or symptoms you may have been experiencing. Your chiropractor will then perform a thorough spinal assessment and orthopedic testing, which includes testing your range of motion, posture, stiffness and muscle imbalances. Scans will be completed as well to determine how efficiently your nervous system is working. During the second appointment, your chiropractor will go over your results with you so you can gain an understanding of what is going on in your body. Following appointments will involve the adjustments to get your spine and health where it needs to be!

Q: What is a subluxation?

A subluxation is a location in your spine where there is restricted movement or function of the vertebrae. This in turn can affect your motion, posture, function, and may affect your nervous system, which is the brain-body connection.  You may not always feel a subluxation, so it’s important to come in for a thorough assessment.  A chiropractor is trained to correct the subluxations with adjustments and get your body functioning the way it’s supposed to.

Q: Do the adjustments hurt?

For most patients, the adjustments are painless. Some patients that are new to chiropractic may feel discomfort during the adjustments, but most people report relief and improved mobility after the adjustment takes place. The doctors have training to deliver gentle, effective adjustments via a variety of ways through instruments or hands.

Q: Will I be sore after the appointment?

After an adjustment, your body may have to get used to the changes happening to your system. There can be some discomfort at first as you are getting used to the changes in function and posture. Once your body is used to those changes after multiple visits, it is unlikely you will feel discomfort. If long lasting soreness occurs, please contact us to explore causes and alternate ways to get your results.

Q: Can the chiropractor help with my problem? How long will it take?

Chiropractic has been known to naturally help a multitude of problems. It may take multiple adjustments before you start to notice results, and this depends on your condition. However, before beginning a program of care with us, we will let you know:

  • If we can help you.
  • How long it will take.
  • The cost involved.

Q: How long is the appointment?

It depends on what your body needs, the first appointment is about 30mins-1 hour. After that the appointments are usually between 3 and 10 minutes.

Q: Do I need a referral?

No, a chiropractor is a primary contact health care professional. You can contact the office directly as a new patient to come in.

Q: How often should I see a chiropractor? Can I get adjusted two days in a row?

It depends on your body, everyone is different. If you have never seen a chiropractor before, you might need to come in more often at the beginning of treatment. It is ok to come a few days in a row, allowing your spine and system to get used to the adjustments, or whatever works for your schedule.

Q: How much does it cost?

Adjustments can cost around $50, and assessment appointments are an additional cost. Most insurance companies cover chiropractic to some extent, so check with your provider for what they offer. We also offer care plans to make payments easier for you. Give us a call if you have any questions!

Q: Do you offer direct billing?

Yes, we direct bill for most insurance companies and can set it up for you!

Q: Can my child receive chiropractic care?

Absolutely! A person can get adjusted right after birth! Our chiropractors are gentle with their adjustments for newborns, and will help them maintain good function early in life. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
